WP4 | ICOS ERIC
Adjunct Professor, Dr. Janne-Markus Rintala is currently a Science Officer for the Operations Unit of ICOS ERIC; in his parallel research career, he organises international scientific meetings, teaches and supervises Ph.D and M.Sci. students and provides leadership experience. His earlier experience involved leading his own research group investigating Winter Ecology, and participating in several research expeditions. In 2014, the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies gave him the appointment of national associate delegate of Finland in SCAR (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research) at life sciences; he is also as an associate member in SCOR (Scientific Committee on Ocean Research) Working Group 140: Biogeochemical Exchange processes in Sea Ice Interphases; and Working Group 152: Measuring Essential Climate Variables in Sea Ice. He joined ICOS at the end of 2017 to work in Horizon 2020 project RINGO Readiness of ICOS for Necessities of Integrated Global Observations and currently coordinates HE GEORGE-project and has been involved in TRICUSO since the development of its proposal.
