Merel De Cock

Merel graduated from Ghent University with a Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering, with a specialisation in land, water, and climate. She also took an elective course on Applied Marine Ecology and one on Scientific Communication in English. Her Master’s Dissertation focused on sustainable site selection of offshore wind farms in the North Sea, considering economic as well as environmental and social criteria.

As a Junior Science Officer for Seascape Belgium, she is part of the EMODnet Secretariat and contributes to Horizon Europe projects such as TRICUSO, AQUAPHOENIX, NESBp, and EuroGO-SHIP. For TRICUSO, she is supporting the communications team in WP7.
