Principal Investigator – Marine Biogeochemistry
WP3, WP5 | NOC
Pete’s research interests lie in investigating the biogeochemical and physical drivers behind the variability identified in the air-sea flux of carbon and its subsequent accumulation, transport and storage in the ocean over multiple timescales. His work involves using observations to interrogate the role of ocean circulation in the Southern Ocean and North Atlantic, and investigating how it impacts surface productivity, air-sea CO2 exchange and long-term accumulation in the water column. In TRICUSO, he is part of WP3 and WP5, looking at how variability in circulation impacts the subsurface reorganisation of the carbon system and their impact on air-sea CO2 fluxes.
